Enjoy learning together with your little one during this weekly drop-in session. Activities are fun, interactive, and encourage children’s curiosity about the natural world. Children and their care-givers rotate to different stations around the Children’s Garden. Stations include planting projects, soil digging stations, tours, story-time, and more. Participation is free, but donations for material costs are appreciated.

Please note that while all children 5 years old and under are welcome to take part in Morning Glories with adult supervision, some projects are designed specifically for children ages 3-5 years old. Younger children are welcome to participate in all stations with the support of their care-givers. Adult supervision is required for participation in the Morning Glories Program.

November: Summer may be well over and our programs are back inside but at the Conservatory it always feels like summer. This November we explore the Conservatory itself – why do we have one? How does it work? Why are some rooms closed? Bring your children in this fall to rediscover the marvels of our indoor spaces while learning about its history, daily life and all those who take care of it.

November 3
Puzzled Construction
The roofs of our Fern Room and Desert House are like two huge glass puzzles – in some rooms there are over 3,000 pieces! Bring your kids to the Children’s Garden this weekend to make your own Conservatory puzzle and to learn about what’s happening in our construction zones. .

November 10
Ferntastic!
Our fern room may be closed, but our love of ferns lives on! Bring your children to preserve a piece of the fern room to take home as they learn about these fascinating plants.

November 17
Mini Conservatories
Why are so many rooms closed? Why do we need glass ceilings? Come find out the answers while you build your own mini-conservatory out of kid-friendly, take-home materials.

November 24
Plant Impressions
This Monday children will imprint plant parts from each greenhouse into play dough as they learn about the differences between our rooms.
