In June of 2011, the Garfield Park Conservatory stood in the path of one of the worst hail storms Chicago has ever seen. After years of construction, limited access, and the challenges of protecting our valuable plant collection, we are proud to present our newly renovated Show House and a flower show that we have been waiting for you to enjoy. Welcome back.
The 2014 Holiday Flower Show, “Silver Linings,” should serve as a reminder that no matter how dire the situation, the pendulum will inevitably swing in a positive direction. We have a beautiful, brand new glass roof, a renovated steel structure, and whole new layout for you to enjoy. The Show House has been restored to the original design that Jens Jensen envisioned for all Chicagoans and visitors from around the world to enjoy. Come inside, get out of the cold and experience this historical flower show. You will be surrounded by lush plant material, an environment of unique, historical and innovative holiday décor, and the reminder that everywhere, a silver lining can be found.
